Yesterday was a fun filled day with the family! We had the absolute BEST time!

We started our day by going to the Party In The Pit with Monster Jam. We were providing coverage of the party and interviewing a national champion while at the show for another blog that I have the pleasure of writing for! My husband has been to the pit at the Nascar races before, but he’s never been to the Party In The Pit with the monster trucks … until now! As you can imagine, he was beside himself with excitement, and I joked that he was the biggest kid there. That actually reminded me of the saying that boys never truly grow up. The only thing that changes is the cost and size of their toys! How TRUE!

We are our own worst enemies, and when we fall short, we are harder on ourselves than anyone else could ever possibly be!   I know you can relate, as you “beat yourself up” all the time in your mind and in your thoughts, just like I do.  We are so unforgiving to ourselves when we truly need forgiveness.  God forgives us freely if we ask, and yet here we are holding on to things and hurting ourselves repeatedly by what we are saying with our negative self talk.  Would you say this to a friend?  All of the thoughts swirling around in your head, all of the times you down yourself for when you’ve fallen short … no, you would NOT say those things to your friend, and if you did, I doubt you would remain friends afterwards.

We need a gentle reminder to be just that with ourselves, GENTLE!More

We all do it. It is part of the “norm” to compare ourselves to others around us. We compare ourselves to our friends, our neighbors, our co-workers, other mothers, the lady in the check out lane next to us, the lady getting her hair done at the beauty shop, etc. What I would like you to realize is that you are beyond compare! I’m speaking to you, dear readers … to my daughters, as I see them struggle with this very same thing, … and I am speaking to myself.

My youngest daughter completely blessed my heart today! When I came home from work, there was a pretty pink card that she and her little friend made together. They had their little pictures on the front, and inside my daughter wrote beautiful words to God that touched my heart and soul.

I wanted to share with you a verse that really gave new meaning to what we do here at Light, Love, Hope.
