When People Let You Down

It’s bound to happen in life. At some point or another, no matter what stage of life you’re in, someone is going to let you down. When you get your hopes up and pour everything into an individual, you set yourself up for disappointment. Man will fail you, but God will not!

Do you know this God I’m speaking of? The One and Only God. The Mighty One. The Ultimate Counselor. The Wonderful Prince of Peace. The Great I Am.

When you feel disappointment in your heart, right to the very core of your being, allow the Mighty One to wrap His loving arms securely around you. No matter what you’re facing in life, turn to Him, and He will help you through it.

Disappointment. Fear. Rejection. Insecurity.

They are NO match for our God!

Gather all of the shattered pieces of your heart and take them to the Mighty One. He will comfort you, love you, and take even the tiniest of those broken pieces and will make something new and wonderful in its place. He will restore what has been lost, and He will provide greater than you could ever imagine.

Our God is Mighty to save … your heart … your life … your disappointment … your brokenness …

Oh how He loves you!

Five Minute Fridays – Prompt Word: Joy!

It’s that time again where we celebrate Fridays by writing our hearts out to a prompt word provided by Lisa-Jo Baker!  It’s where we write without a care in the world.  We don’t worry about critiquing and correcting.  We just write for the sheer joy of letting our fingers fly as we share our hearts with the world.

Our prompt word for today is:  Joy!

The moment we’ve all been waiting for is here!  It has finally arrived!  Our horses will come to their new homes this weekend.  Oh the joy and excitement as my daughter asks, “Is it time yet?” and I reply with, “Yes, ma’am!”   Her eyes light up and she almost screams with the sweetest smile on her face, “WHEN?!”  to which I reply, “Sunday!”   She really does squeal then!  And she jumps up and down, twirls around, and runs to tell her sister who is as equally excited as she!

While the horses bring my daughters pure joy, it is those very same girls that bring ME the most joy in this life.   I get the honor and privilege of being their mother!  God trusted ME … little ole me … to raise them, care for them, love them, treasure, and cherish them … and I do!  Oh, I do!!!

They have brought me so much joy through the years, more than I could ever put into words.  They always greet me with a huge smile and a warm hug no matter if they just got up in the mornings or if they come home from school, or if we share anything exciting … a hug is sure to follow along with laughter as we dance around in the kitchen together acting silly and just enjoying being together!

It brought me pure joy to see their facial expressions when their little heart’s desire was to be “horse trainers” and now their dreams are becoming a reality.  Their joy in becoming horse owners brings ME such joy.

Garden

Welcome to the garden of My heart. Come, take My hand and walk with Me as we stroll through down the paths of beautiful flowers and perfectly placed benches to rest upon. Soak in all of the wondrous sights and sounds as I share with you all that is within Me. Allow Me to pour out My blessings upon you, My Child. Sit with Me a while. Rest your weary head upon My shoulders. Feel the love I have for you in My heart. Let Me wrap you in My love, holding you, reassuring you that no harm will ever come to you. For I know the plans I have for you, My Child. Rest in the knowledge that all things work together for My good. You may not understand My works or My thoughts, but in due time, My child, they will be revealed to you. For now, rest your weary soul upon the banks of the river. Skip rocks and watch the ripples as they reach out to the souls. The very souls that you cross paths with daily. You are My hands and feet upon this earth. You are My mouthpiece. Go, share the good news with the world! I will bless all of My people that are called by My name. I love them. I died for them. I gave My life so they could live forever in My Kingdom. That is the purest form of love You will ever know. Bask in the unconditional love that My heart holds for you forever more. Blessed child of Mine.

I am a little late posting the Five Minute Fridays writing … just as I was late writing the SOAP for the bible verse in the Good Morning Girls group yesterday. My parents were involved in a car accident where a tractor trailer hit them as they were at a complete stop waiting at a red light. The driver of the tractor trailer said he came over the hill and just could not stop in time. There was a car in the other lane, so it was either hit my parents or hit the car in the other lane. Today I had a nice, long visit with my parents. I always enjoy their company, and today was no different. We talked about a variety of things, even reminiscing about things over the years. Our favorite topic of conversation when we visit is, of course, my girls. We talked about how much they have grown and how proud they are of their grandchildren. During today’s visit, my mom talked about memories she has of my girls from when they were toddlers running around the house. She makes me smile as she recaps these moments. My dad smiles and nods as he, too, can remember them at such a young, tender age and can recall everything my mom is referring to. They talked of when my children would visit and how still to this very day it thrills their heart when my children call or come around. Just knowing that they want to spend time with their grandparents means everything to them. They have a bond with their grandparents that has been cemented through the years. I am so happy that they have the type of relationship with my parents that they do have with them as it has been so very important in shaping and molding them into the people that they are today. Oh yes, a wonderful day for a visit with my parents and a walk down memory lane. There’s just nothing like visiting with your parents and spending quality time with them. It’s precious, indeed. I love moments spent with them and treasure them.

Who doesn’t need encouragement in the world we live in today? There’s trouble around every corner, and there is always going to be people that you cross paths with in this life that would love nothing more than to tear you down. For some strange reason, they take great pride in launching assaults at you when what they truly should be doing is offering more encouragement, love, and understanding! The world needs more of God and less violence and negativity toward others. A few kind and gentle words go a long way to helping others along the way. It costs absolutely nothing to offer words of encouragement, and yet the rewards are endless. You get the opportunity to provide a smile on someone’s face that would not have been there that day had it not been for your wonderful words of encouragement. Whether it’s cheering someone on that feels depressed and defeated so that they feel empowered now to get up and try again instead of giving up mere moments before your words of encouragement were spoken. Offer those sweet, loving, kind, gentle, compassionate words of understanding and encouragement! They are so desperately needed in this cruel world we are living in. You can make a difference. Yes, YOU! Oh I can hear you now saying that you’re only one person, how can you possibly make a difference. Well, you may only be one person, but to one person you might just be the world! Speak life, speak love, speak encouragement over someone today! Be the change you want to see in the world. Let it begin with you! Right here, right now! Today! Instead of complaining, speak positive, refreshing, uplifting words … if someone is down, offer your words of comfort, wrap them in your love, and offer all of the encouragement you possibly can! Shower them with it, let them bask in it …

It’s that time again! Five Minute Fridays with Lisa Jo Baker. Yea! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Today’s word is SEE.

I wish that you could see yourself through my eyes. Just once. You are far too hard and critical of and on yourself. You fail to see the beauty that lies within you, as well as the beauty that shines on the outside as well. You think you’re fat when the reality is that you’re so incredibly thin. People have tainted what you see based on the lies that they have told you. It’s sad, so incredibly sad for me to sit here knowing that you see only the negative, the bad, the lies that people have instilled into you. It is true that the longer you are exposed to something, the more you start to believe it. The more you hear those lies, the more you have started to own them as if they were true. They are NOT, dear one. Precious one. Child of God. Hear me! Those lies that they told you are not and never were true. You are so beautiful. You are perfectly and wonderfully made. You have a beauty that shines from the inside because you are a child of God. You have such a sweet way about you, a wonderful personality, and a heart the size of Texas. You care and have more concern and compassion for people. You reach out and show them that you are there to help in whatever way that is needed. You reach down and pick others up that are having a hard time in life. You put yourself in harm’s way to help another. That is beauty. On the outside you are as equally beautiful with your flowing blonde hair and radiantly shining blue eyes. You have the sweetest, prettiest face, and you take care of yourself. It shows. You have a very slender figure on your tall frame, yet you fail to see these things. If I could erase all the horrible things people have said, I would so you could see …
