I Heard The Bells
The beloved Christmas carol I Heard The Bells was written out of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s intense grief after his once idyllic life was shattered by a series of tragedies. The popular poet, whose words helped people far and wide including soldiers on the battlefield as the nation was divided by the Civil War, found his voice silenced after tragedy struck his family. With intense grief that swept over him and his own family torn apart, Henry lost his poetic voice, and the world grew dark, cold, and bleak.
Having loved the song for years, especially after hearing Casting Crowns’ powerful version, this movie allowed a look into the series of events that transpired in Henry’s life which made him put down his pen. I struggled to fight back the tears as I watched tragedy unfold and the heart wrenching agony he experienced to which he exclaimed, “I will never write again!” Grief stricken and completely broken, he lost the will to write and once felt as if God equipped him as a poet yet took his poetry from him!
Even still …
It’s the sounds on Christmas morning from the church bells ringing their glorious tune that re-ignites the flames within him. With his rage all but consuming him from within, he feels no peace on Earth and bows his head.
Then …
With resounding hope and his rekindled faith, Henry returned to his writing desk after two years and penned the words to this powerful song.
This inspiring movie, based on the true life events of the famous poet, will only be in theaters December 1, December 3, and December 4, 2022. Don’t miss your opportunity to watch this movie come to life on the big screen. Get your tickets today for I Heard The Bells.

The Passion of The Christ
My husband and I watched The Passion of The Christ when it was first released back in 2004. I will never forget the huge impact this movie had on us as it focused on the night prior to the crucifixion of Jesus right up until his death on the cross. Growing up, we read the bible and knew of the great suffering Jesus endured for our sins, but it was almost unbearable to watch it depicted on the movie screen. To think that God gave His only Son as a living sacrifice is something hard to wrap our brains around anyway. Jesus willingly suffered for you and I, enduring the multiple beatings as His flesh was torn away. He carried His cross, stumbling and falling under the great pressure of the heavy cross and the agonizing pain He was in. As if that wasn’t enough, they nailed Jesus on the cross piercing His hands and feet. They mocked Jesus, tormented Jesus, and Jesus died on that cross for our sins.
I remember vividly the tears streaming down my face as I watched. How could anyone watch the great suffering Christ endured and NOT be moved to tears? It baffles me to this day how human beings treat other human beings. But Christ, our Lord? He could have chosen not to go through all of that, but He knew it was His Father’s plan. He did what was ultimately required so that you and I may be forgiven and have eternal life by accepting Him into our hearts.
We get comfortable in our daily lives, and we forget how truly unworthy we all are of this incredible gift Christ gave to us all. Eternal life! The greatest gift of all! How could anyone choose not to accept it?
As we prepare our hearts and minds for Easter, my husband and I sat down to watch Pure Flix. That seems to be the only movie channel we can confidently open for a family movie night without having to worry about the content or rating. We noticed Pure Flix has several Easter movies to view, one of which is The Passion of The Christ, which is certainly worth watching again! Surprisingly, my husband clicked on Risen and got into the movie right away. He began pointing out different characters and their roles in the plot to disprove rumors of the risen Messiah to prevent an uproar in Jerusalem.
Have you given Pure Flix a try? If not, we encourage you to today. They are offering a free trial right now also, so be sure to sign up here. For Easter season and all year long, sign up with Pure Flix so you can be guaranteed quality content and not worry about inappropriate content here! It has been so refreshing for our family.

God’s Not Dead: We The People
Not too long ago, I shared the movie trailer of God’s Not Dead: We The People.

Our world is in turmoil, and our freedom is at stake here. This timely movie touches on the liberties we were ALL given in the Constitution of the United States of America. It will take ALL of us to stand up against those in Washington, D.C. and defend our God given rights! This powerful movie will invoke you to rise up for the cause!
I was given the honor of a pre-screening of this movie, and together, my husband I watched as forces threatened to limit, restrict and completely strip parents of their rights with THEIR children. This is a touchy subject right now, with the mask argument on both sides within the school systems. It goes further than that with the controversy over the vaccine for children 12 and over. Some argue the government is trying to take our freedoms away by mandating masks and vaccines. On the other hand, many welcome the mask and vaccine mandates that are being handed down in an effort to save lives. There are arguments on both sides for and against, but at the common core is everyone’s right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
It has been years since we’ve been in school studying the constitution, right? Maybe we all need a refresher at this time. Allow me …
The Constitution of the United States begins with three powerful words: WE THE PEOPLE. The whole meaning behind these words is simply that the government exists to serve the citizens of the United States!
Please watch this movie. Then, take action for what your heart feels passionate about!
October 4, 5, and 6th are your opportunities to see this powerful movie.
