Love this post – how encouraging. I find myself comparing myself to others all.the.time. and it truly is counterproductive and I believe something God doesn’t want us doing. Thank you for this encouragement today!

I agree, Nicole. I truly don’t believe that God wants us to do this either. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for allowing me to encourage your heart. There is no one else on this earth like you – and you are amazing!

Thank you for sharing! I find that comparison isn’t necessarily, absolutely wrong. If we let those comparisons fester into jealousy…sure…that needs to stop immediately! We each have our own unique worth that should be honored instead of eroded by jealousy.

But let’s not forget the tool of admiration, and our ability to see our potential through the inspiration we can garner from others. Just as you strive to inspire others with the word of God, almost anything we do as role models is subject to comparison and self reflection. Or at least we hope!

      Hi Ashley,

Thank you for your thought-provoking comment! I was speaking more of comparing ourselves and our talents to others as recently I have heard comments such as, “I’m not as good of an artist as her,” OR “I’m not as thin as she is.” When those types of comparisons are made, the person feels defeated, discouraged, and depressed. It was my goal to help them see that they possess such beauty in themselves and their God given talents. They are unique as are their talents and abilities, and they should all be celebrated simply because they are amazing and formed by our Awesome God!

      Thank you for stopping by!

Comparison is the worst! I suffer from that stupid affliction myself, so I know!
