Going God’s Way – God’s Plan For Spiritual Battle Series
Thank you for joining us as we discuss Gods Plan for Spiritual Battle: Victory over Sin, the World, and the Devil through Life Sentence Publishing, LLC.
Author Russell M. Stendal begins this chapter with an interesting story about a time that he was asked to preach at a church where, unbeknownst to him, trouble was brewing. (Right off my husband and I said, “Oh boy!” at the same time as we have been in a church where there was division and an outside preacher came in to try to help.) Mr. Stendal did preach the morning service at this church; however, he was notified about a television appearance the following morning that he desired to take part in. He told the pastor that he would not be able to preach for the evening service. This pastor really wanted him to reconsider, but he insisted that he needed to get on the road to reach his destination in time to be ready for the next day. Mr. Stendal set out on his journey, but he had numerous troubles along the way including getting lost. Although he traveled all over, he found himself almost right back where he had started which was very near to the church he preached at that morning. Feeling that God had Him back there for a reason, he called the pastor to let him know that he would, in fact, be able to preach the evening service. No matter how determined Mr. Stendal was to make that television appearance, God had other plans and needed to use him right where he was. And … it happened just as God wanted it to in order for him to be able to preach at the evening service. Previously, Mr. Stendal told God that he wanted to serve Him and do as He would have him do, and God did His thing that day to ensure that His will was carried out!
Further on in this chapter, Mr. Stendal reminds us that the ONLY way to be saved is through Jesus Christ. We cannot be saved through our “works” but by faith! We must turn from or repent from our sins (going our own way instead of God’s) and place our trust and faith in Jesus Christ! Then through His grace and power we will be able to live a life pleasing to Him.
You may have tried for so long to go your way and do your own thing. Now try going God’s way. His way is better! It may not seem like it at times, but trust in Him. Remember Jeremiah 29:11 – trust in that verse as God really does have a plan for your life! You CAN live a life pleasing to God. I know it seems hard at times when it seems like there are temptations around every bend, but you CAN do this. Give your life to God, and He will help you. He loves you and desires a relationship with you.
There’s more to come in this series. Please stay tuned!
